Hello,

i have the problem that some of our pc's are not updating to windows 11.

Setuperror log contains:

Failed to load Session:1884_1456343 [HRESULT = 0x80070002 - ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND]
2021-10-09 16:31:48, Error SP User profile suffix mismatch, upgrade cannot continue.[gle=0x00000012]
...
2021-10-09 16:31:49, Error SP Operation failed: Machine-specific apply. Error: 0x800707E7[gle=0x000000b7]

I checked the userprofile list within registry.
There is no user profile listet with extension .000, .bak or similiar.

All user profiles have a binary path to C:\user and can also be found there.

So I have no glue how to fix this issue.

Please don't tell me to make a clean initial installation.
This is a problem of a couple of developer pcs and it takes days to get the machine runninge again with its environment.

@MS people: What do you think about a hint in the log WHICH user profile is meant.
Your log is pretty helpless without it.

Please help.
Michael

    Hi

    I fixed it.

I renamed the profile folder c:\users\micha into c:\users\michael
and also changed the path to the profile in the profile list within the registry

    Now the updates succeeded.

    Thanks
    Michael
