How do I manually change my HP Photosmart D110 printer IP address?

About two weeks ago, my HP Photosmart D110a printer suddenly changed its IP address, so it no longer connects to my wireless router. I must take my laptop to it and connect by USB to print, but none of the other devices in the house (computers, phones) can print either directly by wireless nor through the wireless router, and so far none have attempted to be connected by USB except my laptop. All transceiver tests of the printer are good, both channels, no problems. The USB connection states the printer is installed properly and all works, but the wireless connection has the continued problems. There was no event or change of anything that might have initiated this change. The new IP address is known to appear when there are problems, and begins 169.254.XX.XX. Uninstalling, reinstalling, cycling off and on of both printer and router, un- and re- plugging AC power, as exactly per procedures, changes nothing, the same incorrect IP address persists. It can see my router, and connects just enough to state it is connected and installed but does not have "full functionality", when actually it has none. One type of test report states it is connected with no problems, while others including through printer controls/print queue/printer manager/Control Panel printer management state it is cot connected or not properly connected/installed. I always turn off antivirus before any procedure to reconnect. I have reentered router information, and reset printer to factory defaults many times now, but nothing changes. I read where I can force its IP address to change by connecting to it directly by USB, but I lost that page/procedure and cannot find it again. All other devices previously connected wirelessly to the router have not changed and maintain full connectivity, except to the printer. I find no method so far to directly access the IP address to change it back to its original proper IP address to my router. Nine troubleshooter programs so far state there is a problem but none offer correction or a method to correct it. As I understand it, when the printer is unplugged/replugged it is supposed to automatically obtain an IP address from the router to which I am trying to connect replacing the previous if it has changed, but it never changes. I have tried connecting to both of the router's channels, 2.4 and 5 (it takes several retries for it to find the 5 channel, even though it cannot connect at this frequency), but always try to ultimately reconnect to the 2.4. I am at a loss to correct the IP address. Suggestions?

    Hi there,

    On the front of the printer: Setup > Network > Restore Network Defaults. Then run the Wireless Setup Wizard from the same Network menu. This must reset and set you an Ip after the wizard. You can also contact Hp who might provide you with some articles.

    I printed both web pages above. Reading both manual and troubleshooting comments good to know, but not helpful. I have tried many methods to correct my HP D110a wireless IP address: antivirus and firewall both disabled to no effect; router and laptop show correct IP address, and USB connection to printer shows correct IP address, but Wireless Network Test continues to show wrong IP address; laptop, router and printer cycled off/on multiple times to no effect; uninstalled/reinstalled HP software and drivers to no effect; Print and Scan Doctor sees correct IP address upon USB connection, but upon USB disconnection (USB to Wireless setup connection) only sees and connects to printer using wrong IP address; online troubleshooters result in identical results as Print and Scan Doctor; Solution Center cannot identify connection problem; Setup states printer requires further setup, but always states further setup required; uninstalled printer and HP software through Add/Delete Programs with no different result; un-/re-plugged printer when printer turned off and when turned on to no different result or IP correction; no method to force printer to reacquire router IP address nor reset IP address through any on-printer Tools or troubleshooting; blue wireless connection LED on Wireless button continues to flash meaning incomplete or no connection; printer Wireless Connection Wizard completes stating printer successfully connected, but Blue LED continues to flash with no complete wireless connection; "USB to Wireless" setup always fails to connect/complete Need USB program to reset IP

    Do not try to use both USB cable and network at the same time.
