Hi

On March 27 i bought 365 Office for for $115. I don't need all of that so I switched it to the $19. I would like to be refunded my $115 and then charged for my $19 plan. Please advise.

    Hello Kristine Christensen

Please note that our forum is a public platform, and we will modify your question to hide your personal information in the description. Kindly ensure that you hide any personal or organizational information the next time you post an error or other details to protect personal data.

I can see that you have switched to a smaller Microsoft plan and would like a refund for the bigger plan.Since Q&A assist already provided you with instruction to issue a refund yourself, I would like to add steps to contact Microsoft Support in case you need further assistance on this issue:

    1. Open a website link - Contact - Microsoft Support
    2. In the box below "We're here to help", type Microsoft 365, click "Get Help", and then click "Contact Support" below.
    3. In this section, you will need to sign in to your Microsoft account.
    4. Select "Microsoft 365 and Office" under Products & Services, select "Manage my Subscription" as the category, and click to confirm
    5. You can select " Chat with a support agent in your web browser " to access the chat window.

I hope you can get the support you need, have a nice day.

A refund cannot be processed directly here, but the subscription can be cancelled and refund eligibility checked using Microsoft’s self-service tools.

    Follow these steps:

    1. Go to the Microsoft account Services & subscriptions page for Microsoft 365:
    2. Sign in with the Microsoft account that was used to buy the $115 Microsoft 365 subscription (try each of the possible email addresses until the subscription appears).
      • It is important to sign in with the account that actually purchased the subscription.
    3. Find the Microsoft 365 subscription that was purchased for $115 and select Manage.
      • If Manage is not shown and Turn on recurring billing appears instead, the subscription is already set to expire and will not be charged again.
    4. On the next page, select Cancel (or Upgrade or Cancel, depending on what is shown).
    5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete cancellation. During this process, refund eligibility for that subscription will be checked.

If the subscription and region are eligible, the refund for the $115 plan will be processed according to the refund rules. The $19 plan will then continue as the active subscription under the same account.

If there are problems locating the correct account or completing the refund, contact Microsoft Support for billing help:

    • Use the guidance in the “Contact Support” section of the refund article to reach a support agent and have them look up the subscription and charges.
