will deleting the disk snapshot effect source disk in azure?

I have created an azure VM snapshot for OS disk, before I install the OS updates for instant restore if in case any issues with updates, Now the VM has no issues with the OS updates, So now I want to delete the snapshot that I took before patch, So deleting this snapshot will effect source disk? and what are the things i have to take care before delete the snapshot?

    Can you please share more details of the type of backup being used? If you are using Azure VM Backup, deleting the snapshot should not affect the VM Disk. You may refer to this link for details on how to stop and retain or delete the backup data.

    Disk snapshots are full copy point in representation. It will be stored in read-only state. Deleting shouldn't cause any issues.
    Snapshot in Azure works differently than VMware.
