My HP laptop has a pop up every time it powers on that says I am not logged in and it makes me restart my pc. There is a message about going into the system and checking EOS. I am not even sure what that is. There is a box I can click to restart. When the start screen opens and I reach log in screen it states that I have attempted the wrong password too many times and I need to enter A1B2C3, then it allows me to enter the correct password. But I never even tried to enter the password initially at all, it just pops up every time. My PC will now only stay on is I have it plugged in to the charge source even though that battery icon in the bottom right shows that the battery is fully charged. These problems seemed to start right after my last update. I do not know if they are related or two separate issues. Any help and insight would be so much appreciated

HP devices do this when the boot settings are incorrect or when the system detects a hardware problem such as a failing battery. The reason you keep seeing the A1B2C3 screen is that Windows triggers a security check after multiple abnormal restarts even if you never typed a wrong password, and this happens when the laptop cannot complete a clean boot. Your laptop shutting off when unplugged, even though the battery icon shows full, strongly suggests that the battery is no longer holding power correctly, which can cause exactly the kind of startup failures.

You can try fixing this by performing a full power reset. After that, you can turn the laptop back on and tap the Esc key repeatedly to open the HP Startup Menu, then open Diagnostics and run the battery, memory, and storage tests to see whether any component is failing when the system automatically opens its diagnostic environment. If the battery test shows a failure, replacing the battery will stop the forced restarts and prevent the EOS message from reappearing. If all tests pass, you can return to the Startup Menu, open the BIOS, and set the internal drive as the first boot device so the laptop stops loading diagnostics and starts Windows normally.

Check the recent Windows update

Go to Settings --> Windows Update

Click Update history

Click Uninstall updates

Remove the most recent update, restart, and test.

Repair system files

Open Command Prompt as Administrator

Run: sfc /scannow

Let it complete fully (100%)

Then Run: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Then Reset Network Configs:
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /flushdns

Restart Login Service
net stop wlidsvc net start wlidsvc

Reset Windows Hello:
C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Ngc

// Delete everything inside the Ngc folder //

If you failed to delete them follow this {
Take ownership of the folder & then delete
-*Right Click on Folder --> Properties --> Security --> Advanced Security --> Change Ownership --> Apply to All

You can create new PIN After restart at step (10) // Or feel free to click on "Forgot PIN" & follow the prompt <<*

Open (Credential Manager) --> Delete Every Cached Password.

Open (lusrmgr.msc) --> Check your Account (is it Enabled? is there duplicates?)

Restart your PC

Fix the battery issue

Reinstall battery drivers:

Right-click Start --> Device Manager

Expand Batteries

Right-click and uninstall: "Microsoft AC Adapter" & "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery"

Restart the laptop P.S: "Windows will reinstall them automatically"

Perform a power reset

Shut down the laptop

Unplug the charger

Hold the power button for 30 to 60 seconds

Plug the charger back in

Turn it on

If the battery problem continues: Battery is failing or BIOS or firmware issue.

About the A1B2C3 message

"This is a Windows security check. It appears when Windows thinks there were multiple failed login attempts, even if you did not type anything"

Probable Cause : Corrupt credential cache / Try login with Password (Sign-in Options) --> then, try to Remove (PIN) & Create new (PIN)

Make sure you are connected to the internet

Use your Microsoft account password, not just the PIN
"If needed, reset your Microsoft account password online first"

After Login, Try Create a Fully New Profile by creating a new Local Account (Settings --> Accounts)

""EOS Message"": means End Of Service or End Of Support from HP or Windows (As Windows 10 Out of Support now unless you extend the security updates)

*Remember: Update your Windows OS & All your Software Drivers

**FINALLY: Search your laptop model and download the (BIOS Firmware Updated) from your manufacturer website.
