When I tried to add a domain with onmicrosoft.com verification fails. I have deleted several times added several times waited 72 hours too. Verification still fails. I need the domain verification to rename the SharePoint domain name.

@Bishal Are you trying to add [domain].onmicrosoft.com in Azure AD custom domain section or a custom domain ? If you are adding the domain somewhere else , could you please provide more information ?
