Hi Team,

We are getting the following error message while starting the windows service with service account.
Kindly advise us on this at the earliest.

Error 1297: A privilege that the service requires to function properly does not exist
in the service account configuration. you many use the Services microsoft management console
(MMC) snap-in (services.msc) and the local Security settings MMC snap-in (seapol.msc)
to view the service configuration and the account configuration.

Thank you for your question and for getting in touch.

From an admin command or PowerShell prompt, run compmgmt.msc. Check if the service is running, if not, start it. If it fails to start, check the system event log for errors.

Hi ,

I have gone through the provided link and doesn't meet my requirement.

Basically I have changed the "Log On As" account from Local System to specific user account for "OpenSSH SSH Server" service in Windows 2019 Server.
During startup of "OpenSSH SSH Server" service I have faced the above error..

Note: With Local System, I managed to start the service("OpenSSH SSH Server") with out any issues

For Azure Fileshare usage, Do I need to set specific user account to run "OpenSSH SSH Server" service.
And also Please advise on following requirement:
How to mount Azure fileshare for all users in Windows 2019 server. After reboot of VM, any user logged in should able to see mounted drive(azure fileshare)

Windows update from October 2024 changed the permissions of the C:\ProgramData\ssh\logs folder, it added a domain user.Removing all but SYSTEM and the Administrators group did the trick (was able to restart SSH Server service).
