Minecraft gifting issue

Question

So my friend gifted me minecraft but when i look at the launcher i dont see i have it, and when i looked up the problem it said i needed a code but when i check the outlook email i gave him i dont see the code there either

As the AI assistant suggestion has already mentioned. The game gift will be sent to you in form of a code to your email account. If you cannot find it, consider to look for it in the spam folder.

Additionally, if your friend bought it using his account. He can also check his order history himself to see if he can see the code and send it back to you.

If a friend gifted Minecraft but it does not show in the Minecraft Launcher and no email with a code appears, the most likely issues are:

1. The gift was sent as a digital code
   • The sender should have received an email from Microsoft (or the store they used) containing a gift code.
   • That code must be redeemed to a Microsoft account before Minecraft appears in the launcher.
   • Ask the friend to:
     • Open the gift email they received.
     • Confirm the recipient email address is exactly the Outlook address provided.
     • If the email shows a 25-character code, forward that email or share the code securely.
2. Redeem the code to the correct Microsoft account
   • Sign in with the Outlook email that should own Minecraft.
   • Go to the Redeem page.
   • Make sure the signed-in Microsoft account is the one intended for Minecraft.
   • Enter the gift code and select Next. The full amount or entitlement will be added to that account.
3. Check the right mailbox and folders
   • Ensure the Outlook address given to the friend is correct (no typos).
   • Check Inbox, Junk/Spam, and Other (Focused/Other inbox) for any gift or purchase email from Microsoft.
   • If there is still no email, the friend should confirm in their order history that the gift was actually purchased and sent to the correct email.
4. If there is no code email at all
   • The friend may have bought Minecraft directly to their own account instead of as a gift. In that case, it will show only on their account, not on the gifted account.
   • They should review their purchase confirmation and verify it explicitly says it was sent as a gift and shows the recipient email.
