Login problems for Microsoft Learn

Previously I logged in to Microsoft Learn without issues, but when trying today I am suddenly put on another account. My Microsoft account name is ******@outlook.com, but previously my account was linked to user ' ErikSiebering-0276'. When I look now I see another user name 'ErikSiebering-8727' and all my progress is gone. Can this be fixed? If so then please do so, because I like to keep my progress in a single overview.

Is it possible to replace the new account 'ErikSiebering-8727' with 'ErikSiebering-0276'?

The issue is caused by having more than one Microsoft Learn profile associated with different login accounts. Progress and credentials are stored per Learn profile, not per email address, so signing in with the same email can still land on a different profile if multiple profiles exist.

To get progress back into a single overview, the older profile and the new one must be merged by adding the login account from one profile into the other:

    1. Sign in to Microsoft Learn with the account that currently shows username ErikSiebering-8727.
    2. Go to profile SettingsAccount ManagementAdd login account.
    3. Add the other login account that was used previously (the one associated with ErikSiebering-0276).
    4. If that login account is already tied to a different Learn profile, adding it will trigger a profile merge. All learning progress, credentials, and transcripts from both profiles will be combined into the signed‑in profile, and duplicates will be removed. Merging cannot be undone.
    5. After the merge, all progress should appear under a single Learn profile. Display name and other editable information can still be changed afterward.

If access to one of the login accounts used on the old profile has been lost and no alternate account was added there, that profile and its data cannot be accessed or recovered.

If the profile is linked to a work or school account and that account is no longer accessible, contact the organization’s IT admin to regain access, then repeat the merge steps above.
