    Hi Rod,

The emails are checked dynamically in IMAP.

Thanks for the details, Rod. Pretty helpful. With an IMAP address, you cannot directly report to Google about the spam. It can only be reported Junk, like this:

    Hi Rod,

Do you have an Outlook.com address?

    If so,Open the unwanted email

    • Click the three-dot menu (⋯) at the top of the email
    • Select JunkBlock Sender
    • Click OK to confirm — future emails go straight to Junk

    To manage all blocked senders,

    • Click the gear icon (⚙️) at the top-right
    • Select Junk email from the left menu
    • Under Blocked senders and domains, click + Add
    • Enter the email address or full domain (e.g., spam@example.com or example.com)
    • Click Save

These steps are valid only for Outlook web app.

I hope this information helps. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

Otherwise, please take a moment to rate the answer. Wishing you good luck!

In Outlook on the web / Outlook.com, blocking senders and seeing junk mail is done from the Junk Email settings.

To check junk mail and block senders in Outlook on the web or Outlook.com:

    1. Sign in to Outlook on the web or Outlook.com in a browser.
    2. Open the Junk Email folder in the folder list on the left to see mail that has already been filtered as junk.
    3. To block senders/domains:
      1. Select Settings (gear icon) at the top.
      2. Select Mail > Junk email.
      3. Under Blocked senders:
        • To block an email address, type the address in Blocked senders and select Add.
        • To block all mail from a domain, type the domain in Blocked domains and select Add.
      4. Select Save.

Messages from blocked senders or domains will go directly to the Junk Email folder. Email in Junk Email is automatically removed after a retention period and cannot be recovered after that.

If using the new Outlook for Windows connected to Outlook.com, the steps are almost the same:

    1. Open new Outlook for Windows.
    2. If more than one account is added, select the Outlook.com account to configure.
    3. Select Settings > Mail > Junk email.
    4. Add addresses under Blocked senders or domains under Blocked domains, then select Add.
    5. Select Save.

To stop specific senders from going to Junk instead of blocking them, add them as Safe Senders as described in Add recipients of my email messages to the Safe Senders List.
