    Hello maxtheehz,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

As of right now, the couch coop option is not yet available in the Xcloud. However, I also do think that it'd be great if a feature like this will be implemented. However, this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators, contributors including external Microsoft employees cannot directly intervene in Microsoft product features or access back-end systems. Our role is limited to providing technical guidance on reported issues, requests, or ideas. In this case, you can submit your feedback directly to Microsoft using the Feedback Hub app in your Windows computer.

About better Xcloud, as I checked there is no report of any user getting ban for using it. Also, Xcloud is a web-based platform, so it will be counter-inituative if user get banned for an extension they have, which probably covers most users. (Even if it's not Better Xcloud, they could still have other extensions). However, even though the extension is available on GitHub, it is a user posted products, so you should still need to be careful before adding it to your browser.

I hope this clarifies. Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.

Local co‑op on a single “virtual Xbox” is supported in the Xbox ecosystem, but behavior depends on how the game is being played.

For Xbox Remote Play (streaming from a home console):

    • The game runs on the user’s own Xbox console.
    • Players who are physically at the console can play together with the streaming player on the same console in local co‑op or versus modes, as long as the game itself supports local play and there are enough controllers.
    • This is explicitly supported: “When playing a title via Xbox Remote Play, it's possible for users that are physically connected to the console to play with the streaming user.”

For Xbox Game Streaming / Xbox Cloud Gaming (game running on Xbox servers in Azure):

    • The title runs on an Xbox server in an Azure datacenter and is streamed to the client device.
    • The documentation describes that all Xbox games can be streamed and that local play (living‑room play) is a supported scenario on a single device, with multiple players and controllers, when multiple players are signed in on an Xbox One (or later) console.
    • However, the provided documentation does not describe or guarantee support for connecting multiple controllers to a single cloud session in Xbox Cloud Gaming, nor does it describe any way to “map” two controllers to one profile in the cloud.

Regarding timing or roadmap (for example, when full local co‑op parity or specific 1v1 scenarios like Mortal Kombat 1 on cloud will be available), there is no information in the provided documentation. No dates or feature commitments are documented.

Regarding third‑party browser extensions such as “better xcloud”:

    • The documentation provided does not mention or endorse any third‑party extensions or tools for modifying or extending Xbox Cloud Gaming behavior.
    • There is no guidance here about their safety, legality, or support status.

For now, local co‑op is clearly supported when:

    • Using Xbox Remote Play with players physically at the console, and
    • Using local play on a single Xbox console with multiple signed‑in players and controllers.

Cloud‑only enhancements, controller‑to‑profile mapping changes, or third‑party extension usage are not covered or supported in the referenced material.
