    Dear @Sureish Sharma Gautam,

I sincerely apologize that you are running into this, payment declines can be really frustrating, especially when you have already completed the OTP/verification step. Kindly try these steps:

1>Make sure the billing details match exactly

Even one small mismatch (name format, billing address, ZIP/postal code) can cause the payment to be rejected. Double-check that what you entered matches what your bank has on file.

2> Confirm your payment method country/region matches the tenant

For Microsoft 365 business subscriptions, Microsoft requires the payment method to be issued in the same country/region as your tenant. If your card was issued in a different country/region, it can be declined. Manage payment methods for Microsoft business accounts | Microsoft Learn

3> Add a new payment method in Microsoft 365 Admin Center (Business)

Go to Microsoft 365 admin center> Billing > Bills & payments > Payment methods

Select Add a payment method, then add a different card (ideally another bank/issuer). Manage Microsoft 365 payment information and billing for your business - Microsoft Support

    4> Retry via browser/network changes

Please try to proceed the payment steps via InPrivate/Incognito window, a different browser, or different network (no VPN/proxy)

I hope the information shared helps point you in the right direction. Please try the steps above and let me know if they work. If not, we can continue working together to narrow this down.

The first response may not always resolve the issue right away, but with your help and more details, we can work toward a solution.

For a Microsoft 365 business subscription where card payments are repeatedly declined, use these checks and alternatives:

    1. Validate the card details
      • Ensure the card number, expiration date, name on the card, and billing address (including city, state, ZIP/postal code) exactly match the card statement.
      • Confirm there are sufficient funds or available credit.
      • If the card information has changed (new card number), replace the existing payment method with a new one rather than editing the old card. This moves all active subscriptions to the new payment method.
    2. Check bank/issuer and security requirements
      • The payment method must be issued in the same country/region as the Microsoft 365 tenant.
      • Some banks require multi‑factor authentication (Strong Customer Authentication). If an email was received stating that multi‑factor authentication is required, follow the instructions in that email to authenticate and pay the outstanding balance.
      • If the OTP/code from the bank does not work, resend the code, refresh the page, and try again. If it still fails, contact the bank to verify the contact info and confirm the card is active and not blocked.
      • If the card continues to be declined, contact the bank and ask whether:
        • International or online transactions are blocked.
        • Any security rules are preventing charges from Microsoft.
    3. Common decline causes to rule out
      • Card not accepted for the selected country/region.
      • Using a virtual or prepaid card (these are not accepted in many Microsoft purchase flows).
      • Outdated card information (expired card or changed CVV/address).
      • Card inactive or blocked by the bank.
    4. Pay an outstanding balance in the Microsoft 365 admin center
      • If there is an outstanding balance because the card was declined, sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center and go to Billing > Bills & payments (or Subscriptions > View invoices in Simplified view).
      • Open the invoice with the warning about the declined payment method and select Pay your balance.
      • Choose to:
        • Try again with the same payment method, or
        • Use another existing payment method, or
        • Add a new payment method (for example, a different credit/debit card issued in the same country/region).
      • Complete Review and pay balance and save.
    5. Other payment options
      • For Microsoft 365 business, if representing a business and card payment is not desired or not working, in some Azure scenarios invoice (wire transfer) payment is supported. For Microsoft 365 business subscriptions, alternative methods depend on region and account type; if card options continue to fail, contact Microsoft support to review available payment methods for the tenant.
    6. If the problem persists
      • If all details are correct and the bank confirms the card is fine, and the payment is still declined, contact Microsoft support for billing so they can review the tenant’s billing account and payment attempts.
