    Hi,

In this case, the repair version shows that your tablet is having problems and is unable to reinstall build 25h2.

If possible, access msinfo32.exe in the search bar, take a screenshot, and post it here if the options in the Microsoft Q&A did not work.

    Thanks

Error 0x80070005 during Windows Update indicates an access denied problem. Use the following steps on the Windows 11 Home 25H2 tablet:

    1. Run the Windows Update troubleshooter
    • Open Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
    • Run Windows Update troubleshooter and apply all fixes it suggests.
    • Try the update again from Settings > Windows Update.
    1. Apply general upgrade/update fixes From the Windows 11 upgrade guidance, the same steps help with update failures:
    • Remove external hardware: Unplug all nonessential USB devices (drives, printers, hubs, docks, etc.).
    • Update Windows and drivers: In Settings > Windows Update, install all other available updates first (especially drivers and firmware) before retrying the failing update.
    • Temporarily uninstall non‑Microsoft antivirus: If any third‑party antivirus/security software is installed, uninstall it from Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, then restart and try the update again. Windows Security will still protect the device.
    • Uninstall nonessential/old software: From Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, remove old or noncritical apps that might interfere with updates, then restart and retry.
    1. Reset Windows Update components (advanced) Only if comfortable with command line and still signed in as an administrator:
    2. Open Command Prompt as administrator (search for command prompt, then Run as administrator).
    3. Run these commands one by one, pressing Enter after each and waiting for completion:
      • net stop bits
      • net stop wuauserv
      • ren %systemroot%\softwaredistribution softwaredistribution.bak
      • ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 catroot2.bak
      • net start bits
      • net start wuauserv
    4. Restart the tablet and try Settings > Windows Update again.
    5. Check for disk or system file issues (advanced)
    • Open Command Prompt as administrator and run:
      • chkdsk /f C: then restart when prompted to repair disk errors.
    • After that completes, try Windows Update again.
    1. If updates still fail
    • Use the Get Help app’s Windows Update troubleshooter on Windows 11, which can run additional diagnostics and repairs.
    • If a specific update continues to fail with 0x80070005 after all steps above, contact Microsoft support with the exact update name/KB number and error code.
