Which is the specific product name? Consumer versions are Office Home 2024 or Office Home & Business 2024.
Other versions, such as Office Professional 2024, are intended for organizations (businesses, educational institutions) and these will require volume licensing.
If a seller led you to believe that you purchased Office Professional 2024 (for example) as a consumer product, you need to request your money back.
