I have the same issue across dozens of devices and here is what hasn't worked so far

    • We've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Microsoft Print to PDF Feature
    • As well as repairing and installing edge from download
    • We have tried clearing Edge cache and browsing data
    • Tried clearing the local app data folder and tried on users that have not logged on to the machines before.
    • Tried guest accounts as well in private browsing
    • This also appears to happen with Google Chrome
    • This does not appear to happen in other apps such as Word

If Print to PDF is working in other apps:

    Close Edge.

Open the Settings App, then go to Apps - Installed Apps.

Scroll down to find Edge, select it and choose Modify - Repair.

Restart (not shut down) your PC and check if that resolves the problem.

If not, downlaod the Edge installer from this link and use that to reinstall Edge on top of the current Edge installation.

Follow these steps focused on Edge, since Microsoft Print to PDF works in other apps and the crash is specific to Edge:

    1. Close other tabs, extensions, and apps
Edge may be running out of memory when invoking Print to PDF.
      • Close all tabs except the one being printed.
      • Close other running apps and pause any downloads.
      • Disable or uninstall unnecessary extensions.
      • Try printing to PDF again.
    2. Update Microsoft Edge
A bug in the current Edge build can cause crashes during printing.
      • In Edge, select Settings and more (⋯) > Settings > About Microsoft Edge.
      • Allow Edge to check for and install updates.
      • Restart Edge and test Microsoft Print to PDF again.
    3. Clear Edge cache and browsing data
Corrupted cached data can cause page or print rendering issues.
      • In Edge, select Settings and more > History > Open history page.
      • Select Delete browsing data.
      • Set Time range to All time.
      • Select at least Browsing history and Cached images and files, then choose Clear now.
      • Retry printing to PDF.
    4. Repair Microsoft Edge
If Edge components related to printing are corrupted, repairing Edge can fix them without removing data.
      • Close Edge for all users on the device.
      • Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
      • Select Microsoft Edge > Modify.
      • When prompted, choose Yes, ensure the device is online, then select Repair.
      • After repair completes, open Edge and test Microsoft Print to PDF.
    5. Restart the device and re‑test
A running process or driver conflict can cause Edge to crash when invoking the print pipeline.
      • Restart Windows.
      • Open Edge and immediately test printing to PDF on a simple page (for example, a blank or text-only page) before opening many tabs.
    6. Check security software
Third‑party security tools can interfere with Edge’s print or PDF pipeline.
      • Open any third‑party security software (for example, Norton, McAfee).
      • Ensure it is fully updated.
      • If it has web or browser protection modules, temporarily disable them and test printing to PDF in Edge.
      • If the crash stops, configure the security software to trust Edge.
    7. Isolate content or site issues
Since printing works in other apps, also test whether the crash happens on all sites or only specific ones:
      • Try printing a different website or a local HTML file in Edge.
      • If only certain sites cause the crash, capture that detail and use Settings and more > Help and feedback > Send feedback in Edge to report it.

If the crash persists after these steps, collect crash information (for example, via edge://crashes if crash reporting is enabled) and provide it when contacting support, as crash diagnostic data is used to identify and fix Edge issues.
