My Windows Update does not work. I need to chat with Microsoft Support, because I have already gone through the list of tips from KI and it did not work.

Hi, I'm Bernard. I'm happy to help!

When you run Windows Update, do you see any specific error message or code? While waiting, can you check the Windows version and edition you have?

    To check:

Go to Settings > System > About

Under Windows specifications, please let me know the Windows version and edition you have.

Note: This is a public forum. I may respond within a short period of time, but I apologize in advance for any delays. I am simply a fellow user trying to provide helpful insights and information.

To chat with Microsoft Support from Windows 11 when Windows Update is not working, use the built‑in Get Help app and then the Contact support flow:

    1. Open the Start menu and search for Get Help.
    2. Open Get Help.
    3. In the text box, type something like Chat with an agent and press Enter.
    4. Select the Contact support button that appears at the bottom.
    5. Choose the product area related to the issue (for example, Windows, Windows Update).
    6. Follow the on‑screen prompts to connect to a live support agent via chat, or select the Call me back option if it is offered.

If Windows Update starts working later and direct support is no longer needed, the official troubleshooting steps for Windows 11 include:

    • Running the Windows Update troubleshooter in the Get Help app:
      • Use the Run the troubleshooter in Get Help link in the article.
    • Verifying date and time settings: Start > Settings > Time & language > Date & time, turn on Set time automatically, and use Sync now if needed.
    • Ensuring enough free disk space (at least 20 GB for 64‑bit) and then running Windows Update again from Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates.
