I can change my password 30 times a day. Within 30 minutes of every password (entered correctly) Microsoft give me the “you have entered your password too many times incorrectly”
I have to change my password constantly because I continuously get locked out of my account, even when I have just reset the password. I am sick of this and it is 100% impossible to speak to a human being at Microsoft.
this is ridiculous. I have been through every Q&A , every support page I can imagine, and by the end of it all, all I received from Microsoft was a red letter warning saying “we are sorry we can not help you” are you F*****g kidding me…

An automated process is repeatedly trying to sign in to your account with the old password.
Every time it fails a few times, Microsoft’s system assumes a brute‑force attack and locks your account, even if you haven’t typed the password wrong once.
Resetting the password doesn’t stop it, because the automation keeps retrying with the old one.
So this cycle repeats forever.

Okay, still doesn’t help me stop it, I have went through everything, I deleted my account off of everything. It’s still happening. And Microsoft is no help.
These are the only actions that reliably stop it:
Force sign‑out everywhere
- Turn off **POP, IMAP, SMTP AUTH** on the account.
- Even if you “don’t use them”, disabling them proves whether one is the source.
- If the lockouts stop, you’ve found the cause.
**Check recent sign‑in activity**
- Look specifically for:
- Repeated failures
- Same IP or region
- Same protocol (IMAP/SMTP)
- This confirms it’s automation, not you.
**Wait 24 hours after the last password change** Constant resets actually keep the cycle alive. Once everything is revoked, the system needs time to stop flagging the account.
