If you are unable to see the drive to install Windows onto, and if you have a modern Intel processor on your PC, you need to go to the support page for your PC on the manufacturers website.

From the chipset section, download the installer for the Intel RST drivers.

Extract out the drivers from that installer and put them into a new folder on your USB.

When you reach the part of the installation where you cannot see the drive, click 'Load Driver, then select one of those Intel RST drivers.

During Windows 11 setup, a request to “select the driver” for the drive usually means Windows Setup cannot see a storage controller or disk because its driver is missing or incompatible.

Use these steps to resolve driver issues in general:

    1. Make sure the PC’s storage controller and disk are properly detected in firmware (UEFI/BIOS). If the disk is not visible there, Windows cannot install to it.
    2. Ensure the latest compatible storage or chipset drivers are installed once Windows is running. Windows 11 can automatically install many required drivers via Windows Update:
      • Select Start > Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options.
      • Turn Receive updates for other Microsoft products On.
      • Under Additional options, select Optional updates.
      • If driver updates are listed, select them, then choose Download and install.
      • Go back to Windows Update and select Check for updates, then install all available updates.
      • Restart the device after updates finish.
    3. If Windows Update does not provide the needed storage driver, obtain a compatible driver directly from the PC or motherboard manufacturer’s support site (matching Windows 11 and system type), then use that driver during setup.
    4. If a driver later fails to load in Windows 11 due to security features (for example, Memory Integrity), check for an updated, compatible version via Windows Update or the manufacturer. If no update exists, turning off Memory Integrity in Windows Security > Device Security > Core isolation details can allow the driver to load, but this reduces security and is not recommended unless necessary.

If the correct storage driver cannot be obtained or installed, Windows 11 setup will not be able to use that drive.
