    Hi, good day!

I understand how frustrating that is especially after trying for so long.

Here are some things you can try.

    • If you have a third-party VPN or Antivirus installed, please try to temporarily uninstall it then check if the issue persists.
    • Please try changing your Region to United States if it helps.
    • Make sure your account is not connected to school/work.
    • Please check if your date and time are set correctly.
    • Reset the Microsoft Store cache Press the Windows Logo Key + R to open the Run dialog box, type wsreset.exe and then select OK. Note: A blank Command Prompt window will open, and after about ten seconds the window will close, and Microsoft Store will open automatically.

I look forward to your update and am happy to continue working with you until the issue is resolved. If you find the answer helpful, please click "Accept Answer" and consider upvoting it. Otherwise, please keep me posted by clicking "Add comment" below instead of selecting Yes or No.

To switch out of S mode in Windows 11 and avoid the “try again” / “can’t upgrade” loop, use the built‑in Store flow and make sure the correct option is selected:

    1. Open Settings on the PC.
    2. Go to System > Activation.
    3. Under Switch to Windows 11 Pro (or similar “Switch to Windows 11 Home/Pro” section), select the Go to the Store link.
      • Do not click the link under Upgrade your edition of Windows; that path keeps the device in S mode and will not turn it off.
    4. The Microsoft Store will open on a page titled Switch out of S mode (or similar).
    5. Select the Get button on that page.
    6. Wait for the confirmation message that switching out of S mode is complete, then try installing apps from outside Microsoft Store.

    Important details:

    • Switching out of S mode is permanent; S mode cannot be turned back on afterward.
    • There is no charge to switch out of S mode.
    • If the device belongs to an organization (work/school), the administrator can enforce S mode and block the switch. In that case, contact the administrator to remove the restriction.
    • If the Store page does not load correctly, use the built‑in link: Switch out of S Mode or Open Microsoft Store and then repeat the steps above.

If the switch page still always fails with “try again,” and the device is not organization‑managed, use Settings > System > Recovery > Reset this PC (keep files) to repair Windows, then repeat the S mode switch steps.
