Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

With a Microsoft account (without an Office 365 subscription), you get 5GB of OneDrive cloud storage and 15GB of Outlook email storage.

If you synced your Gallery (Photos & Videos) to OneDrive and it exceeds the 5GB limit, syncing will stop, and you will no longer be able to send or receive emails in Outlook.

However, the photos and videos in your System Gallery will not be deleted. Only the backup syncing will be stopped.

    =====================================================================

In this situation, if you have exceeded the storage limit and would like to upgrade your storage,

Open an incognito tab and sign in with your Microsoft account here to buy the OneDrive storage plan that suits you.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/onedrive/onedrive-plans-and-pricing

Once purchased, it will take 2-4 hours for the storage to be reflected in your account.

You can then open the OneDrive app and go to the account section to view the total storage space used and the remaining space.

If Samsung Gallery was connected to OneDrive, changes in one place affect the other because the sync is bi‑directional.

    1. Check OneDrive Recycle Bin
      • Open the OneDrive app.
      • Go to the Recycle Bin.
      • If photos or albums were deleted recently, select them and restore.
      • Restored items will reappear in OneDrive and then sync back to Samsung Gallery if Gallery sync is still enabled.
    2. Check Samsung Gallery sync settings
      • On the phone, go to Settings > Accounts and backup > Samsung Cloud > Gallery > Albums to sync.
      • Choose All albums or select the specific albums that should appear in Gallery and sync with OneDrive.
      • Once synced, photos and videos stay saved in OneDrive even if album sync is later turned off.
    3. If Samsung Gallery upload/backup is not working
      • Open the OneDrive app on Android.
      • Tap the account image → SettingsCamera upload (or Camera backup).
      • Make sure:
        • Camera upload/backup is turned on.
        • The Camera upload/backup account is the correct Microsoft account.
        • Upload using / Data usage allows Wi‑Fi and mobile network if needed.
        • Upload/Backup only when charging is turned off if immediate upload is needed.
        • Include videos is turned on if videos are missing.
      • Ensure the OneDrive app stays running; closing it stops automatic backup.
    4. If photos are still missing from OneDrive camera roll
      • Open the OneDrive app.
      • Go to Files and browse to the folder where the photos should be.
      • Manually upload missing photos from the phone’s Gallery/Photos app by using the Share option to OneDrive.
    5. If Samsung Gallery is not syncing correctly with OneDrive
      • If you see errors like “Something went wrong” when connecting Gallery to OneDrive, close Samsung Gallery and reconnect, granting all requested permissions.
      • Samsung Gallery can only connect to personal OneDrive accounts, not work or school accounts.
      • If sync still fails, contact Samsung support from the device: Settings > Accounts and backup > Samsung Cloud > More options > Settings > Contact us > Error reports with Send system log data enabled.

If the photos were permanently deleted from both OneDrive (including its Recycle Bin) and the device, they cannot be restored using these tools.
