- What’s the exact error text + any error code shown in OneNote (e.g., 0xE0000796, “Quota Exceeded”, “Out of space”, etc.)?
- Which OneNote app are you using on Windows: OneNote (desktop/M365) or OneNote for Windows 10 (Store app) — and what version/build?
- Where is the affected notebook stored: OneDrive Personal, OneDrive for work/school, SharePoint, or local only — and does it fail on all notebooks or only one?
- On this PC, are you signed into more than one Microsoft account anywhere (Windows account, OneDrive, Office apps), and does the OneDrive sync client show 5GB full while OneDrive on the web shows 1TB?
- Does your Microsoft account show any other storage warnings (e.g., https://outlook.live.com/mail/ mailbox / OneDrive recycle bin / “Microsoft storage” banner), and have you recently changed/renewed your Microsoft 365 plan or joined/left a Family subscription?
