    Hi,

Sorry you’re running into this issue. Before we go further, could you share a bit more detail so we can pinpoint the cause?

What is the exact error message shown?

Which version are you using: Microsoft 365 or a standalone Office (like 2021/2024)?

Are you on Windows or macOS?

In the meantime, you can try the following:

    1. Try opening in Safe Mode (Windows)

    Press Windows + R

Type winword /safe and press Enter

If it opens, the issue is likely caused by an add-in. You can disable add-ins from there.

    1. Make sure you are signed in to the same Microsoft account that was used to purchase or renew the subscription, then go to: https://account.microsoft.com/services

Confirm that your Microsoft 365/Office subscription shows as active and not expired.

    1. If the issue persists, you may need to reinstall Office:

In your search bar, type Control Panel and press Enter > Programs > Programs and Features.

Locate Microsoft 365 subscription or any Office apps installed on your computer, right-click on them, and select Uninstall.

Restart your computer to ensure the changes take effect.

    Uninstall Office(Mac): https://support.microsoft.com/office/uninstall-office-for-mac-eefa1199-5b58-43af-8a3d-b73dc1a8cae3

Then reinstall it using the steps below:

    Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services

Sign in using the Microsoft account associated with your license.

Locate Microsoft Office and click Install.

This will download the Office installer.

Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
