The error message during exam scheduling is a known issue and is often related to the Pearson VUE side of the process.
Take these steps:
- Try scheduling again from the certification page
- Go to the relevant certification or exam details page.
- Select Schedule exam and choose Schedule with Pearson VUE.
- Sign in with the same Learn profile and re-enter the required address details, then click Submit to be redirected to Pearson VUE and complete scheduling.
- If the error persists at the same step, proceed to the next steps.
- Check for Pearson VUE account blocks
- Similar “unexpected error” issues have been caused by
ERROR_VUE_WIDE_BLOCK, which indicates the Pearson VUE account is blocked (commonly due to multiple failed payments). - This block can only be removed by Pearson VUE support.

- Use Microsoft Certification Support to open a support request so a moderator or support agent can review the scheduling issue and, if needed, direct to Pearson VUE support: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/credentials/support/help
- If the problem is a Pearson VUE block, support will instruct to contact Pearson VUE using the link provided on https://aka.ms/CertificationSupport so the block can be lifted.
Once the block or underlying issue is resolved, return to the exam details page and repeat the scheduling flow. From the Learn profile, the exam appointment can later be rescheduled or canceled if needed.
