Computer that won't charge

Hello whoever is reading this, I have a Windows 10 or 11 intel core i5 Lenovo laptop and when I plug it in, the notebook adapter says it is on, but the computer itself will not turn on or acknowledge that it is on. If you can give me any tips on what to do, that would be helpful. I cannot turn the computer on, as it is dead I think. I did keep it plugged in a lot if that is any help.
