    Hi Landyce,

Thank you for posting your question here!

This usually happens when Windows accessibility keys turn on by accident. To fix it, try to follow the steps that is provided above. Kindly open Settings go to Accessibility then Keyboard and turn off Sticky Keys Filter Keys and Toggle Keys then open each of those options and make sure the shortcut to turn them on is disabled so this does not happen again. After that sign out and sign back in. If you are still seeing double strokes after that, it could be keyboard repeat delay. Go to Settings again, then Accessibility then Keyboard after that adjust Key repeat delay to Long and repeat rate to Slow.

Let me know if you need further assistance, feel free to rate the thread. Thank you and I appreciate your effort.

    Best Regards,

    Angelique P.

In Windows 11, the behavior described (double strokes, unexpected key actions) is often caused by accessibility keyboard features like Sticky Keys, Toggle Keys, or Filter Keys being turned on. These can be disabled in Accessibility settings.

Follow these steps to turn them off and return the keyboard to normal behavior while still using Ctrl+P for printing:

    1. Press Windows logo key + U to open Accessibility settings.
    2. Select Keyboard.
    3. Turn Off the following switches if they are on:
      • On-screen keyboard
      • Sticky keys (prevents multi-key shortcuts from latching)
      • Toggle keys (plays sounds for Caps/Num/Scroll Lock)
      • Filter keys (changes how repeated/brief keystrokes are handled)
      • Underline access keys (optional, only affects underlining)
    4. Also turn Off Use the Print screen key to open screen capture if that is causing unexpected screenshots when pressing Prt Scr.

These changes will not disable standard shortcuts like Ctrl+P; that shortcut will continue to work for printing in apps that support it.

If the issue persists after turning all of these off, test with another keyboard to rule out a hardware problem.
