Wrong location

After the most recent Windows 11 update, I noticed that the time was wrong by several hours. It has me in South Africa, when I am in Texas, USA. How do I correct this?

To fix the time and date for Windows 11, you need to change the time zone and allow Windows to find it automatically.

Go to Start > Settings > Time & Language > Date & Time.

For Time Zone:

Allow Windows to determine automatically by clicking Set time zone automatically to On. Manually choose your time zone by clicking Set time zone automatically to Off and choosing your time zone from the Time Zone drop-down menu. For Texas, select (UTC-06:00) Central Time (US & Canada).Set time automatically should be turned on as well.

To correct the time and location on Windows 11, adjust the time zone (and optionally let Windows detect it automatically):

1. Select Start > Settings > Time & language > Date & time.
2. Under Time zone:
   • To let Windows choose based on location, turn Set time zone automatically On.
   • To set it manually, turn Set time zone automatically Off, then use the Time zone drop-down and select the correct U.S. time zone (for Texas, typically (UTC-06:00) Central Time (US & Canada)).
3. Make sure Set time automatically is On so the clock syncs correctly.
4. If daylight saving time applies, keep Adjust for daylight saving time automatically turned On (when available for your time zone).

This will stop Windows from using the South Africa time zone and align the clock with Texas time.
