Use the following steps on the Xbox to fix Minecraft stopping at the Mojang screen and going black:
- Fully close and relaunch Minecraft
- Press the Xbox button.
- Highlight Minecraft, press the Menu button, and select Quit.
- Wait a few seconds, then launch Minecraft again.
- Make sure the console and game are fully updated
- Go to Settings > System > Updates and install any available console updates.
- Open My games & apps > Manage > Updates and install any Minecraft updates.
- Power cycle the Xbox
- Hold the Xbox power button on the console for 10 seconds until it fully shuts down.
- Unplug the power cable for 30–60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn the console on, then try Minecraft again.
- Reinstall Minecraft
- From My games & apps, highlight Minecraft.
- Press the Menu button and choose Uninstall.
- After it’s removed, reinstall Minecraft from My games & apps > Full library or from the Store.
- Verify ownership and subscription
- Make sure the account signed in on the Xbox is the one that owns Minecraft digitally or has the active subscription that grants access.
- If the game was only owned via disc and the disc is missing, a digital license or active subscription is required.
- If the issue persists
- This is a game/app installation problem on Xbox. Use the Xbox support flow for game or app installation issues on console for further troubleshooting and, if needed, contact support.
