I just changed the owner of my Microsoft account from my husband to myself. I now am the primary account owner and I have downloaded Microsoft 365. When I go to open my files in Excel, Word, etc., I'm getting an error message that my subscription is cancelled. I cannot update any of my spreadsheets and documents. How do I rectify this?

    1

    Open Word.

At the top right of Word, log out of Office.

Restart (not shut down) your PC, then log back into Office, is your new subscription then recognised correctly.

    2

If not, log into your Microsoft account on this link, check the expiry date listed on your subscription, is that listed correctly.

    https://account.microsoft.com/services/

If not, go to the Payments and Billing section, is it indicated your new subscription payment has been processed correctly.
