My deleted emails don't show up when I am on hotmail using my HP lap. There are very old emails in the "deleted" tab but it doesn't refresh. The trashed emails show up on my ipad and iphone but not on my laptop. AI tells me there is a fix for that using a send/receive button but I can't find it. Please tell me how. I think I am on the most recent version of the operating system. I also don't know where to look to prove that.

Thank you.

    Hi Katherine Gariepy,

Hi there, I get why this feels confusing since your iPad and iPhone show the latest Deleted Items but the HP laptop does not.

If you are checking Hotmail in a web browser (Outlook.com), please try this:

    • Open Deleted Items Select Filter (above the message list)
    • Set it to All
    • Still in Deleted Items, select Recover items deleted from this folder (near the top)
    • This confirms what the server currently has for Deleted Items.

If you deleted a large number of messages, it can take time for the web view to finish moving or purging items, so keep the browser tab open for a bit and refresh the folder view.

About the “Send/Receive” button: that is a desktop Outlook feature. If you are using New Outlook for Windows, the traditional Send/Receive button is not available because it is designed to sync automatically.

To confirm your Windows version on the HP laptop:

    • Press Windows key + I
    • Go to System and view your Windows version and device info there

If you share whether the HP laptop view is a web browser or an Outlook app, I can point you to the exact place on that screen to refresh or sync.
