identity validation failed with no explanation.

I have attempted it twice, both times failed.

There is no explanation for this failure.

I have done everything correctly as far as I know.

Where should I look to find out the reason for this problem?

Artifact‑Signing never shows why, so u check Identity validations once and ask Help+support to read the internal result.

For Artifact Signing, identity validation failures generally do not include detailed reasons in the portal. The documented guidance is:

    1. First, check whether the failure was due to email verification:
      • Ensure the email verification link that was sent to the primary email address was selected within 7 days.
      • If the email link expired or was missed, create a new identity validation request and complete the email verification in time.
    2. If the failure was not due to a missed email verification:
      • The Microsoft validation team could not make a determination based on the information and documents provided.
      • Even if additional documentation was requested and submitted, if the information still cannot be validated, onboarding to Artifact Signing is not possible.
      • If all three attempts that required additional documents have been exhausted, validation cannot proceed further.
    3. To get help or clarification:
      • Use Azure Support or Microsoft Q&A with the artifact-signing tag to ask questions or request assistance about your specific identity validation case.
    4. If validation ultimately cannot be completed:
      • The recommendation is to delete the Artifact Signing account so that billing does not continue for unused resources.

There is no separate log or detailed reason field exposed to customers beyond these outcomes; additional insight must come via Azure Support or Microsoft Q&A.
