    Hello

Upgrade license doesn't come with the traditional 5x5 key, your Microsoft account itself is the license.

If you cannot install it from the store, try the alternative method:

You can go to Settings > System > Activation > Change product key

Disconnect internet, and disable any third party antivirus, key in the generic key instead: VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T

That should get you to Pro. Once restarted, you can connect back to the internet, sign into your Microsoft account. See if it is activated.

If the alternative doesn't work either, do a repair install first. Then report the alternative method:

To perform a repair installation of Windows 11 using the Windows Media Creation Tool:

The following steps should be done on a working Windows computer:

Download the Windows Media Creation Tool from Microsoft's official website. https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11 click on the "download now" button under "Create Windows 11 Installation Media"

Run the tool and select "Create installation media for another PC."

Choose "USB flash drive" as the media to use for the installation and select "Next."

Connect a USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space to your computer.

Select the USB flash drive you want to use, and then select "Next."

The tool will then download the required files and create the installation media.

    =====================================================

Now these steps will  be done on your problematic computer:

Go to the USB drive via File Explorer, locate and run the Setup.exe file. Ideally, you should disconnect all USB and Bluetooth devices other than mouse and keyboard. Disable any 3rd party antivirus program. Disconnect the internet.

Once you run the Setup.exe file, choose the Install option, and the choose the option that keeps your files and apps.

Error code 0xC004F050 indicates that the product key used for the Windows 11 Pro upgrade is not valid for activation.

Because the upgrade was purchased through the Microsoft Store app, a traditional 25-character product key is not provided. Instead, a digital license is issued and linked to the Microsoft account used for the purchase. That digital license is what activates Windows Pro after a successful upgrade.

To resolve the failed upgrade and activation error:

    1. Confirm that the Microsoft account currently signed in on the device is the same one used to buy the Windows 11 Home → Pro upgrade in the Microsoft Store app. The digital license is tied to that account.
    2. Open Settings > System > Activation and check the activation state. If activation still fails with 0xC004F050, use the Activation troubleshooter from the same page if it is available.
    3. If activation continues to fail, contact Microsoft support for activation assistance, referencing error 0xC004F050 and the fact that the upgrade was purchased via the Store and no key was provided.

The purchase confirmation email for the Store transaction will confirm that a digital license (not a product key) was issued for the Pro upgrade.
