Generally, each subscription is associated with an account, not with a particular device, so there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to reinstall, assuming that you have access to your account at https://account.microsoft.com/services .

What seems to be the problem when you try to reinstall? Are there any error messages?

Follow these steps to reinstall Microsoft 365 with the apps on the computer that had its drive replaced:

    1. Go to the Microsoft account dashboard: https://account.microsoft.com and select Sign in.
    2. Sign in with the same Microsoft account that was originally used to set up or purchase Microsoft 365.
      • If the account is forgotten, use I forgot the account I use with Microsoft 365 from the help article.
    3. On the main page, select the Subscriptions icon in the left pane.
    4. On the Subscriptions page:
      • If using a Microsoft 365 Personal subscription, confirm Install Microsoft 365 appears in the upper-right corner and select it.
      • If using an Office perpetual license (for example, Office Home & Student), confirm the same product name appears under Products you've purchased and select the Install link there.
    5. In the Install Microsoft 365 dialog:
      • Choose the preferred language.
      • Choose the bit version (32-bit or 64-bit) from Choose a version (if unsure, see Choose between the 64-bit or 32-bit version of Office from the article).
      • Select Install.
    6. An installer file (for example, OfficeSetup.exe) is downloaded.
    7. Double-click the downloaded installer and follow the prompts. The installation dialog opens and installs the apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
    8. When You're all set appears, select Close.
    9. Ensure the computer is connected to the Internet, then open any Office app such as Word or Excel.
    10. Accept the Microsoft Software License Terms. If prompted, sign in with the same Microsoft account to activate Microsoft 365.

If Microsoft 365 was originally provided by work or school and there is no install option after signing in at https://www.office.com, contact the organization’s Microsoft 365 administrator, as installs may be centrally managed.
