To pay a Microsoft 365 subscription on a monthly basis, change the billing frequency of the subscription to monthly in the Microsoft 365 admin or account experience, depending on how the subscription is managed.

For Microsoft 365 subscriptions that use the Microsoft 365 admin center (business subscriptions):

1. Determine the billing account type (MCA or MOSA) and ensure the appropriate billing role is assigned.
2. Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
3. If using Simplified view, select Subscriptions. If using Dashboard view, go to Billing > Your products.
4. Select the subscription to manage.
5. If the billing account type is MOSA:
   • In Subscription and payment settings, select Edit billing frequency.
   • In the Edit billing frequency pane, choose Pay monthly, then select Change.
6. If the billing account type is MCA:
   • In the Billings section, under Subscription length & billing frequency, select Edit settings.
   • Choose the desired billing frequency and select Save. The change is scheduled and takes effect at renewal.

When recurring billing is turned on, the subscription will be billed automatically on the renewal date according to the selected frequency (monthly or annually). If recurring billing is turned off, there will be no future automatic charges; the subscription remains usable until the expiry date.
