When you said profile here, I take it that you meant Windows user profile, since I saw the question tag is for Windows 11 | Accounts, users and profiles.

If that's the case, a user profile by definition is the folder that hosts all of the data for that user that lives in C:\users.. Just want to make sure that's indeed what you want to remove.

If so, you cannot remove it while you are signing in with it. Instead, you need to log out of it, sign in with another user that has admin right.

Type sysdm.cpl in the search on the taskbar and hit enter, go to Advanced tab, click on the "Settings" button at the User Profile section. Then delete that user profile from there. Please leave defaut and public user profile alone and don't touch those.

Once deleted, type netplwiz in the search on the taskbar and hit enter, then you can delete the username for that profile from this page.

I hope that's what you were looking for.

For Windows 11, “profiles” can mean different things. Based on the available information, here are ways to remove common profile types that match the tags and context.

    1. Remove an Outlook mail profile (if the old names are Outlook profiles)

    1. Open Outlook.
    2. Select File > Account Settings > Manage Profiles.
    3. Select Show Profiles.
    4. Select the old profile name.
    5. Select Remove and confirm.

    Notes:

    • Deleting a profile removes the accounts in that profile, but any Outlook Data Files (.pst) on the PC remain.
    • If Outlook will not start, run outlook.exe /manageprofiles from the Windows search box to open the Show Profiles dialog and remove the profile there.

    2. Remove an eSIM cellular profile (if the old names are mobile data profiles)

    1. Select Start > Settings > Network & internet > Cellular > eSIM profiles.
    2. Under Profiles for cellular data, select the profile name to remove.
    3. Select Delete, then Yes to confirm.

    Note:

    • If the PC is managed by an organization, it may not be possible to delete eSIM profiles due to policy.
