Hello, I’ve forgotten my hotmail password and can’t remember any previous passwords either. I’ve been trying for over a week to access my account, but can’t. Is it possible to contact anyone at hotmail or who could help?

Resetting your password should be straightforward as long as you have access to your recovery options, such as your alternate email address or phone number.

Do you still have access to any of these? If so, the reset process should be quick and easy. The issue only arises if you no longer have access to those verification methods.

Hello, thank you for answering. Unfortunately I don’t have access to the verification email address, as it is many years old. I can’t remember any old passwords either. I don’t remember doing a phone number.

If you don’t have access to your alternate recovery methods, unfortunately, getting verified through the Microsoft Account Recovery form is the only option available.

Without this verification step, someone else could potentially change your password. If you don’t have access to your security details, you’ll need to prove your identity using the Recovery form and then update your security information.

The Account Recovery Form requires adequate information to prove that you are the owner of the account. The Account Recovery Process can be a time consuming process, but providing as much info as possible from the start of the process will increase the possibility of being verified by the automated process. You'll need to keep trying until you're verified by Microsoft.

Remember to use a familiar device from which you've frequently accessed your Microsoft account, as well as a familiar location.

Note - If you remove all of your previous security information and replace it with something new, your account will be put into a restricted state for 30 days.
