Almost every time I access Bing it freezes and gives me the option to close it or wait. I will choose wait and it will pop up asking the same thing several times.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

May I please know if you are experiencing this issue when accessing Bing in the Microsoft Edge web browser, or when using the Bing app on your smartphone?

Based on the error message, it looks like you're experiencing this issue on your mobile device. Please try the following steps:

    • Force close the Bing app from your recent apps.
    • Restart your device and reopen Bing.

If the issue persists, open the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS) and check for any available Bing updates.

    If no updates are available,

    • Clear the Bing app cache (on your Android) OR
    • Uninstall and reinstall the Bing app

Let me know if you still need more help.

Use Task Manager and basic Edge troubleshooting to stop the freezes.

    1. When Bing (in Microsoft Edge) freezes and shows the “wait/close” dialog repeatedly, force-close Edge:
      • Right-click Start and select Task Manager.
      • In Task Manager, select Microsoft Edge and choose End task.
      • Confirm that Edge is closed, then close Task Manager and reopen Edge.
    2. Reduce crashes by freeing resources and cleaning up Edge:
      • Close all other tabs except the one using Bing.
      • Close other running apps and pause any downloads.
      • Remove unneeded extensions.
      • On the affected tab, reload the page.
    3. Make sure Edge is up to date:
      • In Edge, select Settings and more (… menu) > Settings > About Microsoft Edge.
      • Apply any available updates, then restart Edge.
    4. Check for malware that might interfere with browsing:
      • On Windows 10, run a manual scan from Windows Security as described in Stay protected with Windows Security.
      • For other OS versions, follow the relevant malware protection guidance linked in the Edge troubleshooting article.
    5. If freezes persist, restart the device and try Bing again in a fresh Edge session.

If the issue continues after these steps, repeat the Task Manager closure when it hangs and consider scanning with Windows Defender Offline as described in the Edge pop-up guidance.
