The Microsoft 365 connector requires a work or school Microsoft 365 account tied to a Microsoft Entra tenant.. personal accounts like @outlook.com or @icloud.com are not supported.

The Microsoft 365 side of the connection must use a valid Microsoft 365 identity that can sign in successfully and that has the required Copilot capabilities where Claude is supported.

From the symptoms described (being prompted to sign in with an @icloud.com account but then seeing an @wvintl.com address), the issue is most likely that:

    • The account used for Claude and the account used for Microsoft 365 are different identities, and
    • The Microsoft 365 connector is trying to use one identity while the browser or Office apps are already signed in with another.

To fix this from the Microsoft 365 side:

    1. Confirm which Microsoft 365 account actually has the Copilot/Claude capability
      • Claude in Microsoft 365 is only available when using:
        • A commercial Microsoft 365 Copilot subscription or Microsoft 365 Premium subscription for Agent Mode in Excel, or
        • A Microsoft 365 Copilot license for the Researcher agent in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app.
      • Make sure the @wvintl.com account is the one that holds the appropriate license, if that is the work account.
    2. Make sure the correct account is signed in to Microsoft 365
      • In a browser, go to www.microsoft365.com and sign out of all accounts.
      • Sign back in only with the Microsoft 365 account that has Copilot (for example, the @wvintl.com work account if that is the licensed one).
      • Verify that the name and email shown in the header match the intended account.
    3. If using Claude with Agent Mode in Excel
      • Open Excel while signed in with the correct Microsoft 365 account.
      • Go to Home > Copilot > Tools > Agent Mode.
      • Use the AI model switcher to select a Claude model.
      • Note: For enterprise tenants, an admin must first enable Anthropic as a Microsoft sub-processor in the Microsoft 365 admin center before Claude can be used.
    4. If using Claude with the Researcher agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot
      • Sign into the Microsoft 365 Copilot app with the licensed Microsoft 365 account.
      • Under Agents in Chat, select Researcher, then select Claude.
      • An admin must allow access to Anthropic AI models in the Microsoft 365 admin center before Claude appears.
    5. If sign-in still loops between accounts
      • Clear cached credentials and sessions for the wrong account (for example, sign out of all Microsoft sessions and clear browser cache/cookies), then repeat the sign-in using only the intended Microsoft 365 account.
      • If the Microsoft 365 account cannot sign in at all, use the Microsoft 365 sign-in helper to diagnose the account issue.

If the Claude connector insists on using the @icloud.com identity while Microsoft 365 is licensed and configured under @wvintl.com, the connector must be configured to use the same Microsoft 365 identity that holds the Copilot/Claude entitlement; otherwise, the connection will fail or show the wrong account.
