Would like to check the cost for a particular Foundry Deployment/model
Hi
We tried to check the cost for a particular deployment for a particular range of date and there isn't filter to check.
Also, the numbers of token consumed and the charge it is billed for.

While Azure AI Foundry doesn't offer a direct per-deployment cost filter within the Foundry portal itself, you can absolutely track the cost and token consumption for a specific deployment using Azure Cost Management in the Azure portal.
Checking Cost for a Specific Deployment (with Date Range):
- Go to the Azure portal → navigate to your Azure OpenAI (Cognitive Services) resource.
- Under Cost Management, select Cost analysis.
- Set your custom date range using the date picker at the top.
- Change Group by to Meter -> this breaks down the cost by model-specific meters (e.g., input tokens vs. output tokens will appear as separate line items).
- You can further use the Filter option to narrow down by specific deployment if you have multiple deployments under the same resource.
This gives you a clear view of what's being billed and how much, for the exact date range you need.
Tracking Token Consumption:
Azure OpenAI provides built-in monitoring metrics to track token usage:
- In the Azure portal, go to your Azure OpenAI resource → Metrics.
- Select metrics like Processed Prompt Tokens (input) and Generated Completion Tokens (output).
- You can filter by ModelDeploymentName to isolate a specific deployment.
- Adjust the time range as needed.
These metrics show exactly how many tokens were consumed (input and output separately) over any time window.
- Azure OpenAI billing is token-based — input (prompt) tokens and output (completion) tokens are metered and billed separately at different rates depending on the model.
- Cost data in Cost Management may have a 24–48 hour delay, so use trend windows rather than expecting real-time figures.
- For proactive cost control, consider setting up a Budget with alerts in Cost Management to get notified when spending crosses a threshold.

2026-05-14T08:14:01.3233333+00:00 Hi Suchitra,
I went to Azure portal and searched for Azure OpenAI (Cognitive Services) but did not find it.
However, I checked for Azure OpenAI and opened this -
There is no Cost Management Option.
So, I searched for Cost Management directly under Azure Portal Search and looked for Cost Analysis under Reporting + analytics.
Selected the resource group and checked for services. It provided
This was giving me different Foundry Models & Foundry Tools Cost. I understand Foundry Models charge is based on our usage, but what is Foundry Tools charge and how we are charged/on what basis?
Later, I choose "Visualize your costs" option.
Tried to add filter of model and there is no Model filter or deployment.
Your answer is very vague or general. Kindly provide a specific answer. If possible, I can for a call for faster resolution.
