Sending, receiving, and organizing email in Outlook.com
Deleted junk mail in Outlook.com or Outlook on the web can only be recovered for a limited time.
- Junk Email is kept for 30 days before it is automatically deleted and then is not recoverable.
- If the message was moved from Junk Email to Deleted Items, items in Deleted Items are kept for 30 days, and then can still be recovered for another 30 days after removal from Deleted Items.
- To check if the email from NCP is still recoverable:
- Sign in to Outlook.com or Outlook on the web.
- Open the Deleted Items folder and look for the message.
- If found, select it and choose Move > Inbox (or another folder).
- Also check the Junk Email folder in case it has not yet been purged.
If the email was in Junk Email and more than 30 days have passed since it was deleted from there (and from Deleted Items, if applicable), it is no longer recoverable and there is no way to confirm from Outlook whether it was received.
