On a Microsoft mouse used with Windows 10, the physical click sound comes from the mechanical switch in the mouse and cannot be disabled in software. To remove or reduce that sound, the only practical option is to use a different, quieter ("silent click") mouse model.
If the concern is not the physical click but how the click behaves (for example, double-click speed, button actions, or scroll behavior), these can be adjusted:
- Select Start > Settings > Devices > Mouse.
- Change settings such as primary button, scroll options, and other behaviors.
- For more advanced customization, install and use the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center app, which allows configuring button actions and other features for Microsoft mice.
