Hi,
iv'e got this script from a friend. -link removed-

in order to activate microsoft products freely. He told me microsoft is "Okay with that",
so I felt i must ask before using it:
is it okay, is there any official response from microsoft regarding that issue?
I want to know if it is considered act of stealing by the company, of course I wont use that if so.
It is very important to me to get an official response if possible.
Thanks

    Hi,

To be clear, using scripts or tools to activate Microsoft Windows or Office without a valid license is not allowed. This is considered unauthorized activation and is treated as software piracy, as it bypasses Microsoft’s licensing system.

Microsoft only supports activation through official methods such as a genuine product key purchased from Microsoft or an authorized seller, a digital license linked to your Microsoft account, or a Microsoft 365 subscription.

Anything outside of these official methods is not supported and can also expose your device to security risks since these scripts may run unknown or unverified code on your system. So the safest and correct answer is: do not use it.

Using that script to “freely” activate Windows or other Microsoft products is not a legal or supported activation method.

That type of script typically points the device at an unauthorized Key Management Service (KMS) server to fake activation. As explained in the referenced guidance, using such a script is considered an illegal method to activate Windows and is also dangerous because it connects the PC to a non‑Microsoft server.

The only legal and supported ways to activate Windows or Office are:

    • Entering a valid, purchased product key, or
    • Using legitimate volume licensing infrastructure (for example, an organization’s properly licensed KMS or MAK), or
    • Using official subscription activation tied to a valid Microsoft account or Microsoft Entra ID license.

Any other method, including scripts that claim to “activate for free,” is unauthorized and should not be used.
