so i think my microsoft account got hacked, when i want to login with my real account it says they will send code to the unknown account to verify. edit: strangely, the account was changed but the password was still the same, but when i tried to login this happenedIMG_20260517_150928(its indonesian language btw if you wanted to translate). Well the thing is, he told me that i tried to login into an account that will be closed at 15/07/2026. When i clicked the blue button(Open my account back) they still told me to get the code from the "unknown" account.

UPD: for now i'll just factory reset my device to be safe. Thankfully i only have Minecraft on that account.

I might be misunderstanding this but I often receive emails telling me that I've an account somewhere that's about to get closed (always with a button or link to access it). I never pressed any of them because I assume they'll immediately load some trojan onto my machine.

Is that different to what happened to @ara ?

Hey there! Nice to meet you!

Based on your description, the hacker was able to remove the account's primary email address/security info and replace it with their own email address.

Since the security info has been replaced by the hacker, I'm afraid there is no other working method to recover the Microsoft account, and Microsoft Support cannot help either.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Darhyl

I had a similar issue too a few weeks ago with 2 x antivirus programs failing to detect anything. In the end I used System Restore to switch to an earlier restore point and for me at least, that fixed it.

Hi! A similar case with steps that worked: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/5632645/how-to-recover-a-microsoft-account-which-was-hacke

Your best shot is submitting a recovery request at https://account.live.com/acsr with as much detail as you can (old passwords, creation date, devices used). On the login screen, also try "I don't have any of these" to trigger an alternative flow.

    Act fast, good luck!
