Microsoft Authenticator Restore Error: "Something went wrong" during backup recovery

2026-05-18T03:02:42.3966667+00:00

Hello,

I am facing a critical issue with Microsoft Authenticator cloud recovery.

My primary mobile phone was recently stolen. I had previously enabled the cloud backup feature linked to my personal Microsoft account. Now, I am trying to restore my credentials on a backup device, but I am unable to complete the process.

After entering my account details to recover the backup, I consistently receive the following error message: "No se puede recuperar, algo ha ido mal. Envíenos los registros mediante la opción Enviar registros" (Unable to recover, something went wrong. Please send us the logs using the Send Logs option).

I have already submitted the logs through the app option as requested by the error prompt.

Device Specifications:

Model: Xiaomi Redmi 12C

OS: Android 14

Storage/RAM: 128GB Storage / 4GB RAM

Processor: MediaTek Helio G85 Octa-Core Max 2.0GHz

Since I am currently locked out of several accounts that depend on these 2FA codes, I would appreciate any guidance on how to fix this sync error or if there is a known workaround for Android 14.

Thank you.
