Follow these steps for each Hotmail/Outlook.com account that is not receiving mail from Yahoo senders:

    1. Confirm the accounts are working
    • Make sure cloud storage and mailbox are not full. If storage is full, Outlook.com cannot receive any email and messages sent to it are bounced and unrecoverable. Check mailbox storage and free up space if needed.
    1. Check Junk and Other folders
    • In Outlook.com, check the Junk Email folder and Other tab for missing Yahoo messages.
    • If any Yahoo messages are in Junk, right‑click them and choose Mark as not junk to train the filter.
    1. Check Junk Email settings, rules, and forwarding
    • In Outlook.com, open Settings and review Junk Email settings to ensure Yahoo addresses or domains are not blocked.
    • Check for any email rules that might move or delete messages (for example, rules that send all new mail to another folder or RSS feed). Remove or edit any rule that could affect Yahoo messages.
    • Check if email forwarding is enabled and, if so, verify the forwarding address or temporarily turn it off to test.
    1. Check blocked senders list
    • Sign in to Outlook.com.
    • Go to Settings > Options/Mail > Blocked Senders or Block and allow.
    • If any Yahoo address or the yahoo.com domain appears there, select it and remove it.
    1. Ask a Yahoo sender to resend and check delivery
    • Have someone with a Yahoo account send a test email.
    • If it still does not arrive and there is no error visible to you, ask the Yahoo sender to review Outlook.com sender guidance at Sender Support in Outlook.com or contact their provider.
    1. If only some devices fail to show the mail
    • If one device is not showing messages that appear in Outlook.com on the web, remove the device partnership from the mailbox and re-add it as described in the sync troubleshooting guidance.
    1. If none of the above helps
    • Use the Outlook.com interactive troubleshooter from the “Can’t send or receive email in Outlook.com” article.
    • If the issue persists, use Help in Outlook.com, scroll to Still need help?, and contact Outlook.com support so they can check for any broader delivery issues between Yahoo and Outlook.com.
