after migrating my comcast.net email to Yahoo.com email. I am unable to get outlook360 to pull over the new Yahoo mail. I have tired following the yahoo instructions but continue to get stuck at a required password or using my comcast.net name but being able to select yahoo as the imap mail service.

Outlook 365 needs to be configured as a Yahoo IMAP account (not Comcast) after the migration, and recent Outlook builds can connect to Yahoo using OAuth with the normal Yahoo password instead of an app password.

Use these steps in classic Outlook for Microsoft 365 on Windows:

    1. Make sure Outlook is on a channel that supports Yahoo OAuth
      • Yahoo OAuth support is available in Current Channel (and newer builds) of Microsoft 365 Apps. If Outlook is on Monthly Enterprise or Semi-Annual Channel and cannot use Yahoo OAuth, switch the device to Current Channel using the guidance in "Change the Microsoft 365 Apps update channel for devices in your organization" referenced in the Yahoo OAuth article.
    2. Add the Yahoo (migrated Comcast) account as Yahoo, not Comcast
      • In Outlook, go to File → Add Account.
      • Enter the migrated email address that now signs in via Yahoo (for example, the address that Yahoo’s migration documentation tells to use).
      • When Outlook detects the provider, ensure it is treated as a Yahoo/IMAP account, not as the old Comcast configuration.
      • When prompted for credentials, use the normal Yahoo account password (or the password now associated with the migrated mailbox), not the old Comcast password and not an app password.
      • Complete the OAuth sign-in window and consent screens.
    3. If Outlook does not prompt for a password or gets stuck
      • When manually configuring IMAP details, ensure Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) is unchecked on the IMAP settings page.
      • If still stuck, configure via Control Panel:
        1. Open Control PanelMail.
        2. Select Email Accounts….
        3. On the Email tab, select New.
        4. Enter name, the migrated Yahoo-based email address, and the password in Password and Retype Password.
        5. Select Next and follow the prompts; enter the password again if asked.
        6. When setup completes, select Finish.
    4. If the account was previously set up with a Yahoo app password
      • Remove the old profile for that account in Outlook.
      • Re-add the account as above so Outlook uses Yahoo OAuth.
      • When prompted, always use the regular Yahoo password, not the legacy app password.

Once configured as a Yahoo IMAP account with OAuth, Outlook 365 will sync the migrated mailbox from Yahoo rather than trying to use the old Comcast IMAP configuration.
