Yes. The sign-in notification and the Recent activity / My sign-ins pages show approximate information about the device and location that tried to access the account.

For a personal Microsoft account (Outlook/Hotmail, etc.):

  1. Go to the Recent activity page: https://account.live.com/Activity.
  2. Sign in and review the list of recent sign-ins.
  3. Expand the specific activity to see:
    • Date and time
    • Approximate location and a map
    • IP address of the device
    • Device/OS and browser or app used

For a work or school account:

  1. Go to the My Account page: https://myaccount.microsoft.com/.
  2. Select Recent activity.
  3. Expand the sign-in to see the same type of details (location, device/OS, browser/app).

Keep in mind:

  • Locations are based on IP address and can be approximate, especially for mobile networks.
  • This information helps identify whether the activity looks like it came from an attacker, but it does not give an exact physical address.

If any activity looks unfamiliar, immediately change the password and update security info (and enable two-step verification / multi-factor authentication) using the Security settings or Security info pages referenced in the articles.
