This might be caused by Windows Hello PIN conflicts, incorrectly formatted Microsoft account usernames, or corrupted cached profiles.
If the host machine uses a Microsoft account, the standard email address often fails in the RDP username field. To fix this, prepend the domain by formatting the username as MicrosoftAccount\your-email@example.com . You can use Command Prompt on your computer to find the correct name by running whoami.
Another possibility is that you use PIN instead of a standard password. To resolve this, on your Windows 11 computer, select "I forgot my PIN" at the login screen, log in with your account password, and reset the PIN to rebuild the required credential hashes.
