    Hello Jefferson Kimberly,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum!

I understand that you are having issue with unrecognized charge. I truly understand how you feel. Let me assist you further.

    1. To identify the charge

2.For refunding, please contact support for the best assistance:

Once you’ve tried the steps above, you can also reach out directly to the Microsoft Support team. It may offer live chat and, depending on your subscription/region, an option to request a callback:

    • Go to https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact
    • Search for "Refund Microsoft 365 subscription" in the search box.
    • Click "Get Help", then scroll to the bottom and select "Contact Support”.
    • When prompted to select Products & Services, select Billing> Subscriptions> Charged unexpectedly / Refund
    • Look for and select "Chat with a support agent in your web browser". Once connect, explain your situation clearly.

Please note that the chat support team only works during certain working hours. Therefore, if the last window indicates that you are unavailable, try opening it again the next day. If you prefer phone support, you can leave a phone number. That way, they can call you and help you.

Please understand that this is a user‑to‑user support forum. Moderators, contributors, and external Microsoft staff cannot directly intervene in Microsoft product features or access back‑end systems. Our role is limited to providing technical guidance on reported issues, requests, or ideas. Still, I will do my best to assist you with everything I can.

To refund and check for refund eligible you can refer to this website, follow the steps instruction:

To get money back for a charge on a Microsoft 365 or other Microsoft subscription that should not be active, follow these steps:

    1. Investigate the charge
      • Go to the Manage your payments page from the Microsoft account dashboard and select Investigate next to the unrecognized charge. This helps confirm what the charge is for and which subscription or product it relates to.
      • Guidance: How to investigate a billing charge from Microsoft.
    2. Check and cancel any active subscription
      • Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the Microsoft account that was charged.
      • Under Services & subscriptions, look for any Microsoft 365 or other Microsoft subscriptions.
      • Select Manage next to the subscription, then select Cancel (or Upgrade or Cancel) and follow the on‑screen steps.
      • If you see Turn on recurring billing instead of Manage, the subscription is already set to expire and won’t be charged again.
    3. Check refund eligibility and request a refund
      • For Microsoft 365 Basic, Personal, Family, or Premium purchased from Microsoft, a refund check requires cancelling first.
      • After cancellation, refund eligibility depends on the subscription type, timing, and country/region. Some countries (such as Canada, Israel, Korea, Turkey, and certain EU countries for longer-term subscriptions) may allow prorated refunds after cancellation.
      • Full guidance: How to get a refund on a Microsoft subscription.
    4. If the charge is truly unauthorized
      • If the investigation shows the charge is not for any subscription knowingly set up or used, and especially if the account has not been used in years, treat it as an unrecognized/unauthorized charge.
      • Use the Investigate flow on the Manage your payments page to classify it as not recognized.
      • If needed, contact Microsoft support directly for billing help, as community forums and Q&A cannot access accounts or process refunds.
    5. If the subscription was purchased through a mobile app store
      • If the subscription was bought via Google Play or Apple App Store instead of directly from Microsoft, cancellation and refund must be requested from that store’s support:
        • Google Play: see Learn about Google Play refund policies.
        • Apple App Store: request a refund from Apple support.

If cancellation was attempted but charges continue, verify that cancellation occurred more than two days before the billing date and that the correct Microsoft account was used. If not, repeat the steps above and then request a refund.
