Can't open Captures.

Question

When I open settings and click gaming, three things pop up :

• Game Bar
• Captures
• Game Mode

When I click either of the other two, they open, but when I click Captures, it doesn't open. It makes it grey and won't let it open, I spent 7 minutes trying to get it to open, but it didn't.

Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run these two commands one after another:

sfc /scannow

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Reboot.

Use the Gaming settings page and the Game Bar settings to troubleshoot the Captures page not opening.

1. Open Settings.
2. Go to Gaming. If possible, use the keyboard instead of the mouse:
   • Press Tab until focus is on the left pane (System/Gaming/etc.).
   • Use the arrow keys to select Gaming, then press Enter.
3. In Gaming, use Tab and the arrow keys to move between Game Bar, Captures, and Game Mode. Confirm that focus can move to Captures even if it appears greyed out.
4. If Captures still will not open, configure capture-related options through Game Bar instead:
   • Open Game Bar settings from Gaming > Game Bar.
   • Use the options there (and in the Game Bar overlay itself) to control recording, screenshots, and Game Mode behavior.

If the Captures page remains inaccessible, use the Game Bar overlay directly during gameplay (Win+G) to start/stop recording and manage captures while using Game Mode from the Game Mode section under Gaming.
