What is the problem when I try to select slideshow it does not allow, it select picture or solid for the background

but it works perfectly for the lockscreen

As the AI suggested, this issue can occur when multiple Virtual Desktops are active. If you are not intentionally using them, press Windows + Tab, then close the extra desktops so that only Desktop 1 remains, similar to the image below. Once the additional desktops are removed, restart your computer and check if you can enable the slideshow again.

In Windows 11, Slideshow is supported for the desktop background, but there are two important limitations that match the behavior described:

1. When using multiple desktops (Virtual Desktops), Slideshow as a desktop background is not supported.
   • In this case, Windows only allows Picture or Solid color for the desktop background.
   • The lock screen is separate and can still use Slideshow, which is why it works there.
2. Per-monitor slideshow is also not supported when using multiple desktops.

To use Slideshow for the desktop background again, configure a single desktop (do not use multiple desktops) and then:

1. Open Settings → Personalization → Background.
2. Under Personalize your background, choose Slideshow and select the image folder and timing.

If multiple desktops are required, only Picture or Solid color can be used for the desktop background; Slideshow will remain unavailable there but can still be used on the lock screen.
